Washington, DC

I was able to meet Greg up in Washington, D.C. for a few days after his meetings were over. Thanks Mona, Michael, Erin, and Grandma and Grandpa, and Amy for playing with our boys while we were gone!
It was fun to get away and see a new place!

This is the National Archives. It holds the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution. It was really neat to see the real documents and not just a copy!
...the rotunda it is all held in.
The first page of the Constitution. You can't use a flash so this is the only one that really turned out that you can make out the first words.

The signatures of the Constitution....I thought this was really neat to see the real thing.

We saw the White House. This is actually the front.
I wanted to go on a tour, but you have to make requests months in advance and we didn't know that. :(

The Lincoln Memorial

...this was taken from the Washington Monument looking at the Lincoln Memorial.
Washington Memorial
The Capitol

This was the inside of the dome of the Capitol.

Looking towards Washington Memorial from the Capitol.
The steps of the Capitol.
It was crazy to think about all the stuff set up for the inauguration and all the people.
This is the visitor center for the Smithsonian Museum.
A prop used for the Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian movie.

We also saw the American History, Air and Space, and part of the Natural History Museums. It was so fun.

It was great to see a new place. This seems to be Greg's second home these days so it was fun to see where he has been. Thanks again to everyone for helping out so I could go. :)

How neat to see the originals of the documents that founded and shaped this great nation! I'm glad it worked out for you to go. I know Mom and Dad enjoyed watching those Boys of yours!
